The strategic, adaptive, problem solving individual in this role will serve as the strategic financial leader of the organization. The VP of Finance & Operations is responsible for all financial functions, operations and oversight of contractual obligations for the organization. This role is part of the leadership team for the organization.

Our Ideal Candidate will:
Strategy, Planning and Management:
• Act as lead financial officer and strategic business advisor to senior leadership team with an eye on continuously improving financial management and oversight.
• Provide oversight for execution of both short-term and long-term strategic goals of the organization.
• Communicate, engage and interact with the Board of Directors, Leadership Team, COO and CEO.
• Responsible for the management, training and retention of accounting and facilities support staff.
• Provide strategic oversight of the organizations technology, IT systems, telecommunication systems, security and other physical property.
Finance Management:
• Oversee financial management, planning, systems and controls.
• Develops and manages financial policies and procedures for the organization to ensure construal compliance in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Management of agency budget and cash flow in coordination with outside accounting firm and the CEO.
• Oversees and is responsible for coordination of various funding sources with the Director of Finance and Operations.
• Management of all grant budgets, spend down, reporting and compliance with monitoring for all funding sources
• Responsible for oversight on all contracts, licenses, insurance, and NPO regulatory requirements.
• Oversees quality assurance review of reimbursements and request for payments from public funding sources.
• Makes recommendations for maximizing funding streams and diversifying funding sources.
• Development of individual program budgets in partnership with Program Directors.
• Coordinates with CEO, COO and Program Mangers on evaluation and continuous quality improvement to ensure cost effective programming and improved outcomes.
• Effectively and clearly communications potential risk and makes recommendations for mitigating such risks to the COO in a timely manner.
• Assess and evaluate financial performance of the organization with regards to long-term operation goals, budgets and forecasts.
• Review and approve preparation and finalization of monthly and annual financial reports with outside accounting firm.
• Facilitate preparation of Annual Audit and 990.
Dimensions and Working Relationships:
• Reports to the COO, works on frequent projects with the CEO and is a member of the Leadership Team
• Employee supervision responsibilities to Director of Finance and Operations and other future financial or operations team members and/or interns.
• Full time exempt position. Approximately 40 hours per week, will vary based on project load.
Education and Experience Required:
Master’s degree in Business Administration or Public Administration, Certified Public Accountant, or commensurate experience. Bachelor’s degree required.
6+ years in a financial leadership role.
Considerable knowledge of both private and public funding of nonprofits.
Demonstrated ability to manage professional staff.
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex fiscal and administrative problems and make recommended solutions.
Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with a diverse group of individuals and stakeholders inside and outside of the organization.
Demonstrated willingness to make decisions. Exhibit sound and accurate judgement and make timely decisions.
Self-directed, independent individual able to set and meet own deadlines and schedule without a lack in quality and timeliness.
Comfortable working in a faith based environment.
Ability to manage multiple projects at once with no decline in quality control.
Must be able to work independently, as well as effectively within a team. Must be able to work well with colleagues and volunteers.
Must be detail oriented and able to execute flawlessly on projects in a fast-paced, often pressured environment.
Strong problem solving skills with the ability to see full scope of problem/project to diagnose core issues then generate, evaluate and implement solutions.
Comfortable using google suite of products. Knowledgeable with QuickBooks accounting records.
Work Environment:
Work is performed remotely from home or in the office.
Lifting of materials of up to 15 pounds may be necessary.
Job may require working occasional evenings and weekends.
