The Land Conservancy of West Michigan (LCWM) is seeking a full-time Office Manager in our Grand Rapids office. An integral member of the team, the office manager will be the hub for operations, gift processing, technology, and donor relations. This essential team member will play an important role in supporting the people, projects, and programs at LCWM.

A non-profit organization, the mission of the LCWM is to keep nature nearby and help people protect, enjoy, and care for natural land in West Michigan, over an eight-county region. Since its inception over 40 years ago, the Land Conservancy has protected more than 12,000 acres through nature preserves, conservation easements, and partnerships with communities throughout our service area. How you will spend your day:
Office Management
- Provide a positive first impression of LCWM when assisting visitors through in-person contacts, email, phone calls and other communication channels.
- Coordinate phone calls and phone system.
- Maintain office equipment and inventory of office supplies.
- Drive organizational management of electronic data and hard copy files.
- Point person for IT and other operational vendors.
- In coordination with other staff, the position is responsible for the execution of institutional mailings and direct mail campaigns. Supervise interns and volunteers to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and confidentiality are maintained in mailings and other projects.
- Provide administrative support to the executive director and leadership team, as needed.
Operations
- In coordination with the finance director and development staff, the office manager is responsible for gift processing and reporting from all revenue sources.
- Complete deposits and deposit back-up documents.
- Compile reports from revenue sources and coordinate monthly reconciliation and reporting with staff and vendors.
- Coordinate donor stewardship efforts. Ensure donors receive gift receipts and are thanked in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain donor records.
- Perform regular data entry and database maintenance. Work collaboratively across departments to ensure the flow of information.
- Provide support for hiring employees as well as assist with staff onboarding, transitions, and associated paperwork, assist with training and provide HR support as needed.
- Provide administrative support for events, land protection, land management, accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
Board and Committee Support
- Provide administrative support for the board of directors and standing committees.
- Manage board and committee meetings, records, websites and/or software and coordinate content creation.
Requirements
- Three-five years of combined education and/or professional experience
- Ability to conceptualize, organize, implement and manage a variety of tasks and projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and professional demeanor
- Experience with CRM software, database software, records management, and Microsoft Office 365
- Solid work ethic, able to take initiative and work effectively alone or in groups
- Strong interpersonal skills--adaptable, friendly, and considerate
- Ability to manage confidential information and use discretion
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal instruction
- Experience working with boards, committees and/or volunteers

What we offer you: A 40-hour a week flexible work schedule doing meaningful and interesting work in a collaborative and positive work environment. Contribute to the success of the LCWM and our mission to preserve natural lands while expanding your professional experience. Pay is $42,000-50,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
