We are looking for a goal driven, organized, detailed, compassionate, and highly motivated person in this full-time in-office position who leads and supervises all aspects of our development department and community engagement. The Vice President of Advancement is responsible for advancing the mission by cultivating avenues for fundraising while proactively working with the CEO to contribute to the vitality and health of the organization’s budget. This position reports to our CEO and is a member of our Executive Leadership Team. The Vice President of Advancement supervises advancement and development staff; including marketing, communication and events staff.

You’ll Get To:
As a member of the FPWM leadership team, collaborates with other VP's, the CEO and COO to plan for meeting current organizational needs and future growth.
Provides analysis and reporting on the overall performance of fundraising against goals and strategic plan.
Stays aware of advancements and changes pertinent to fundraising and development profession
Manages and nurtures the Development staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance.
Direct the annual fund program, including mailings, and annual fundraising drives.
Oversee grant process including research, proposal writing, and reporting requirements.
Coordinate capital campaigns and other major fundraising drives.
Responsible for oversight on all special events.
Organize all donor recruitment and retention efforts.
Grow major gifts program including identification, cultivation and solicitation of major donors.
Responsible for a planned giving program.
Coordinate recognition programs for volunteers and donors.
Present and speak on behalf of the organization at community events.
Responsible for overseeing donor software and tracking systems.
Responsible for overseeing all social media communications, website management, PR, media engagement and marketing materials for the organization.
Responsible for overseeing all activities related to annual fundraising, congregational development, donor, volunteer, and community engagement.
Other duties as assigned.
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have/Be:
Bachelor’s degree required. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or Business Development preferred.
6+ years of Senior Leadership preferred
7+ years development / advancement in a non-profit environment preferred.
Responsibilities for this position are public in nature. Understanding and possessing knowledge of the broader community, its goals, and the political environment related to homelessness, is an expectation for this position.
Experience leading a team of 2 or more direct reports desired.
The ability to identify unmet needs, goals, opportunities and challenges in existing partner relationship/structure and create a plan to drive value
Experience in program and project management.
Organized and exhibited “follow through” on tasks and goals.
Be a “self-starter” and goal driven to initiate donor visits and fundraising calls.
Have the desire to get out of the office and build external relationships.
Excellent relationship management skills and ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
Must be able to work independently, as well as effectively within a team.
Strong communications skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
Must possess a positive, can-do attitude.
Be familiar with and comfortable working in a faith-based environment with congregations and clergy on a regular basis
Must be committed to and supportive of our organizational mission and of faith-based initiatives and programming.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word/PowerPoint/Excel/Gmail/Google Docs, and other common computer skills/software/programs.
