Family Promise of Grand Rapids strives to give parents the hope and encouragement they need to create a better future for their kids and end the cycle of homelessness. Through our emergency shelter, housing services, home ownership opportunities and family engagement/stabilization services, we’ve helped over 2,500 families build a stronger future.
The independent, organized, and highly motivated individual in this full-time position is responsible to work with families and children to support families in fostering safe, healthy, and nurturing environments by demonstrating and applying knowledge of the issues faced (e.g., housing, employment, healthy development for their children, and access to services).

Our Ideal Candidate will:
Have experience in Early Childhood Development work
Providing families with developmentally appropriate activities and information designed to enhance the child's intellectual, social-emotional, motor, and language abilities
Provide best practice programming for economic mobility (employment) and housing and basic needs stabilization services
Support families in obtaining the knowledge and skills to support their child’s healthy development
Provide information on community and agency services and referring families to community resources
Assist in developmental screening and assessments for young children
Assess families with access to basic needs, health, academic, housing and childcare needs
Demonstrate the ability to work with a culturally diverse population
Create, Assess, Evaluate and Modify Housing Plans and Stabilization goals with all families
Education and Experience Required:
Masters in Human Services related field (Early Childhood Development, Social Work, Family Counseling)
Early Childhood Development Work Experience or Education
Bilingual (preferred)
Documents a valid driver’s license
Presents familiarity of working with families and children
Demonstrates comfort in a faith base organization
Identifies with evidence-based case management practices
Must have excellent communication skills, including both written and verbal communications
Must be able to work independently, as well as effectively within a team
Must be able to work well with colleagues, board members, volunteers and community members
Must be detail oriented and able to follow through on projects in a fast-paced, often pressured environment
Must be proficient in Microsoft office products and Google suite of products.
Full Time, position. No direct employee supervision.
