We are the behavioral health community organization responsible for the delivery of mental health, substance abuse treatment coordination, and developmental disabilities services for Kent County. We need individuals who are passionate about making a difference by helping others.
We are seeking a Director of Human Resources to guide and manage the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs to support organizational goals and objectives, operating within established timelines and budgets.
This is a full-time position, regularly scheduled Monday to Friday, during office business hours. A flexible hybrid working arrangement is available for this position. The employee may perform work from a home office or work site during regular business hours.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or related field.
At least four years of management experience in Human Resources required.
Certification through SHRM or HRCI (SHRM-SCP or SPHR preferred)
Experience designing, developing and implementing new programs and policies to meet organization strategic goals and objectives.
Negotiation skills to effectively chair committees, manage conflict resolution, and resolve problems.
Demonstrated knowledge of employment law at federal, state and local levels.
Union Contract/Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiation experience.
Experience responding to lawsuits and claims with various government agencies.
Skilled in performing internal investigations.
Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and address employee / management concerns to achieve “win – win” results.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines; work within budgetary guidelines and support organizational goals and programs through human resources initiatives.
Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.
Ability to articulate and actively support the mission of the organization to various audiences.
Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job related use
Basic computer skills and understanding of human resource information systems (HRIS).
Experience working effectively in a multicultural environment. Demonstrated skills and capabilities of bridging language/cultural barriers to providing services within diverse communities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in Human Resource field preferred.
Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued
