The Community Giving Officer will honor our community’s collective wisdom and use their own experience and networks to inspire and drive their work. The leader of this work is an individual who possesses relationships within Black and Latinx communities and has experience building initiatives from the ground up and complementing existing lessons learned. As such, this individual will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for facilitating the direction, implementation, financial sustainability, operations and execution of both the Latinx Advisory Committee and our African American Heritage Fund. This position will play a critical role in collaborating with the Community Foundation staff, stakeholders and volunteer committees in strategic decision making and operations. This is a tremendous opportunity for a thought leader to maximize and strengthen the internal capacity of a well-respected, high-impact organization whose values are centered in racial equity.
The Community Giving Officer will have an extraordinary understanding and commitment to the Community Foundation’s North Star and relationships and networks within communities experiencing inequities in Kent County. They will have extensive experiences working effectively with persons from various cultural, social and ethnic backgrounds. They will have demonstrated the ability to work in a collaborative setting, communicate effectively around sensitive issues, actively listen for understanding and a highly developed cultural awareness
